Inovateus Solar has started construction on Logansport municipal utility’s first solar project after the city retired its over 120-year-old coal power plant. Financed by a power purchase agreement (PPA), the solar project will minimize carbon emissions from Logansport Municipal Utilities (LMU), help stabilize energy prices for LMU customers, and also host a bee and butterfly habitat that will support farming in the area. Vestas has received a 28 MW repowering order from ecoJoule construct for the wind project Brest, located in Lower-Saxony in northern Germany, won in the tender for the Federal Network Agency. Five EnVentus platform V150-5.6 MW turbines, with concrete hybrid towers with a hub height of 166 meters, will substitute the currently installed turbines to increase annual energy production. Sterling and Wilson Solar Solutions have revealed that they have been awarded a $99 million contract to build a 194 MW project in the United States. It is being built by a leading sustainable energy company, and will be co-located in an region that is in service with substantial wind production. Shetland Islands Council (SIC) has granted planning permission for Viking wind farm’s temporary main construction compound southeast of Sandwater. The site will cover a maximum area of 250 square meters along an access route off the A970 main road. During the four-year construction process of the wind farm, offices, workshops, a canteen and other welfare facilities will be provided to the workers along with a laydown area for storing plant, fuel, equipment and supplies. Vestas has secured a 48 MW order with Vietnamese developer, Phong Lieu Wind Power JSC for a wind project located in the Quang Tri Province of Vietnam.
