Arctech Solar has delivered tracker components from China to Oman for IBRI II project, funded by Arabian renewable developer ACWA. This project is the largest utility-scale PV plant in the Middle East to date and also one of the world’s largest PV plant boasting single-axis trackers and bifacial modules. After years of R&D investment by Arctech, SkyLine trackers adapt to all types climates and terrains due to its self-learning ability and easy installation, which can greatly increase the energy yield and lower LCOE. Arctech has localized part of the production orders in Saudi Arabia to meet the localization requirements and…

Schletter Group has relocated its Shanghai site to a new plant, expanding its production capacities in China. “At our new location, which is tailored to our requirements, we now have the capacities we need for our growing business. And the new plant also offers us room for potential future expansion.”Florian Roos, CEO of the Schletter Group. In the new plant, approximately 18,000 square meters, about 400 employees will manufacture solar-mounting systems. “Due to the high capacity use, we have reached natural limits at the old site in the last few years. The new site will enable us to process orders…
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy will supply the 2.640MW Dominion Energy Coastal Virginia offshore wind (CVOW) commercial project with SG 14-222 Direct Drive offshore wind turbines. This project will be home to the latest offshore turbine variant from Siemens Gamesa that has the capacity to produce up to 15MW with a 222-meter rotor. The exact quantity of turbines to be deployed shall be subject to the final conditions of the project site. It is expected that all turbine installations will be completed by 2026. The agreement is subject to certain conditions, including the final investment decision by Dominion Energy, government permits, and…
Wärtsilä has received an order for its 34SG gas-fuelled engine generating set from Rofeica Energia, based in Barcelona, Spain, enabling the company to secure its future in Spain’s combined heat and power (CHP) market. Switching from heavy fuel oil to gas operation will enable the customer to capture various CHP revenue streams while reducing their carbon footprint considerably. The market in Spain is increasingly trending towards sustainable power generation. “High efficiency and reliability are essential if our company is to remain competitive in today’s tough market conditions. We have had excellent experience with Wärtsilä’s engine technology and support for the…
BELECTRIC is constructing a solar power system for Vattenfall’s first full hybrid power plant. The energy park Haringvliet Zuid will consist of a wind farm (22 MW), a battery storage system (12 MW) and a large-scale photovoltaic system built and commissioned by German solar specialist BELECTRIC. The solar power system alone will cover an area of about 30 hectares and will feature a 38 MW installed capacity. The hybrid power plant designed to generate and store renewable energy will be built on the province of South Holland’s Goeree-Overflakke Island, about 30 kilometers southwest of Rotterdam. Construction on the large-scale photovoltaic…
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) and Hai Long Offshore Wind (Hai Long) have confirmed that they plan to use the new SG 14-222 DD offshore wind turbine for the upcoming 300 MW Hai Long 2 project in Taiwan. The deployment of the turbine for the rest of the 1.044 MW Hai Long pipeline is also being considered. The exact number of units remains to be confirmed for the project’s first 300 MW, based on site specific conditions. The preferred supplier agreement as published in November 2019 remains subject to contract and final investment decision from the consortium partners, Canadian independent…
Copenhagen Airports, A.P. Moller-Maersk, DSV Panalpina, DFDS, SAS and Ørsted established partnership to develop an industrial-scale production facility to produce renewable fuels for road, maritime and air transport in the Copenhagen region. The partnership combines the demand and supply side of sustainable fuels with a mission to realize what could become one of the world’s largest facilities for electrolysing and renewable fuel production. “Whether we operate in road transport, shipping or aviation, we all have a major task to contribute to the sustainable transition in Denmark. The challenge of creating a future-proof and sustainable fuel is common to everyone in the…
Tekmar Group has reported the involvement of its operating companies: Ryder Geotechnical, Agiletek Engineering, Tekmar Energy, and Pipeshield International in the Coastal Virginia offshore wind project (CVOW) on the East Coast of the US. The project involves the installation of two 6MW offshore wind turbines. Ryder Geotechnical, which specializes in geotechnical design and research, was the first group company to support the project, delivering on behalf of Ørsted a Cable Burial Risk Assessment (CBRA) in 2019. During the project’s design phase, the CBRA was performed to quantify the risk to the subsea export and array cables from external sources. Tekmar…
Enel Green Power North America has started operating a 50 MW expansion of the High Lonesome wind farm in Upton and Crockett Counties, Texas, raising the group’s largest operational wind project to 500 MW in its global renewable portfolio.
