EDF Renewables, Enbridge and wpd have launched the Fécamp offshore wind farm after the consortium and its financial partners signed funding agreements over the weekend. The 500MW offshore wind farm Fécamp will consist of 71 wind turbines situated between 13 and 22 kilometers from the northwest coast of France. The commissioning of the project is expected in 2023. The power generated by the wind farm would provide sufficient annual electricity to meet the power needs of 770.000 people, or more than 60 percent of the population of the Seine-Maritime department. Duke energy has reduced residential power bills by about 3.6 percent. As a result, average residential consumers who use 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month and purchase electric supply from Duke Energy Ohio will pay around $114 a month beginning with their June bills. MHI Vestas has signed a conditional agreement for the delivery of turbines comprising 1.140 MW for an offshore project in the UK. If and when the project turns into a firm order, a company announcement will be made by Vestas Wind Systems. The project will be handled by MHI Vestas, and will not join Vestas Wind Systems order backlog. The project’s materialization will be subject to a Final Investment Decision.

RP Construction Services (RPCS) has launched a new logistics center in Kosciusko, Mississippi. The new facility is now the third RPCS-owned and operated distribution yard to serve the U.S. utility scale solar industry, complementing RPCS’s Texas and California sites. Consisting of two warehouses, the facility rests on a 10-acre site.
