Asturias will pursue research on using renewables to create, store, and utilise low-emission green hydrogen. It is part of a nationwide program in which the CSIC collaborates with eight other communities and is funded by European funding as well as contributions from the communities themselves.

The French company began operations in 2012 and is preparing to open its doors in Chile. It will study new investments for fuel development, where it expects to launch its first operation in 2024 with an investment of over US$250 million.

In Spain, this sort of vehicle is essentially non-existent, with only 15 registered hydrogen vehicles and a recharging station index that isn’t much better. In comparison to the 150 that the plan envisions for the next 9 years, there is now not a single public hydrogenerator in Spanish territory (there are, however, private hydrogenerators).
