The project was selected in Japan’s Long-Term Decarbonization Power Source Auction, launched in 2024, which gives long-term revenue visibility to new decarbonized capacity. Sumitomo says it is involved in 9 battery storage projects with a combined output of about 200 MW, including those under construction, which puts Namie at about 31% of that output (ENB calculation). The financing amount is not disclosed.
