ReneSola has informed that commercial operation of a 21.05 MWp portfolio of community solar projects in Minnesota has started. ReneSola Power developed and subsequently sold this community solar portfolio to Nautilus Solar Energy. The community solar portfolio developed by ReneSola Power is qualified under Xcel Energy’s community solar program in Minnesota and began commercial operation in July and August 2020. MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has received a significant order for delivery of the mission-critical system to be installed on the OHT offshore wind foundation installation vessel, Alfa Lift, being built at the China Merchants Heavy Industry shipyard in Jiangsu, China. The order, which is the largest single vessel contract secured to date by MacGregor, was booked in Cargotec’s 2020 third quarter order intake. Risen Energy has recently secured an additional contract for the supply of 165MW of customized high-performance solar PV modules with Sprng Energy. ALDI Australia is committing to 100% renewable electricity to power its Australian operations by the end of 2021, following a successful 40% reduction of overall operational emissions intensity from a 2012 baseline. The commitment to be 100% powered by renewable electricity will be possible at the completion of a vast solar installation program and the recent procurement of two ten-year Power Purchasing Agreements (PPAs) with large scale wind farms. The Baker-Polito Administration has signed a lease agreements with Vineyard Wind and Mayflower Wind to utilize the New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal as the primary staging and deployment base for the construction and installation of their offshore wind projects located in federal waters south of Martha’s Vineyard. Swansea-based Marine Power Systems (MPS) reached a £1.5 million crowdfunding target in just two weeks after launching and then moved into overfunding, now at over £2 million. MPS also obtained support from WEFO with £12.8 million of EU funding which has been supporting them with this phase since being awarded last year. With over 30 years’ experience of the offshore wind industry, ABP’s centres of offshore wind include the £310 million offshore wind facility at Green Port Hull (a joint investment with Siemens Gamesa) and operations and maintenance facilities in Grimsby, Barrow and Lowestoft.
