IREC, UPC, and the energy engineering firm AESA formed a consortium to develop a reversible electrolyzer for implementing hydrogen technologies in Barcelona. The electrolysis system was completed as part of the HyBCN project, which was funded by the City of Barcelona as part of Pla Barcelona Ciència 2020-2023. Snam4Mobility, an Italian energy infrastructure company, and OG, a Dutch company that owns and operates sustainable fuels service stations in the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden, have agreed to build a new Bio-LCNG refueling station in Paderborn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. This agreement is part of a larger sustainable mobility collaboration project between the two companies. HyCC and bp have agreed to collaborate on the development of H2-Fifty, a 250-megawatt green hydrogen plant in Rotterdam’s port area. The joint development agreement comes after a feasibility study revealed that the project can help the region’s industries decarbonize. The green hydrogen produced by H2-Fifty will be used to replace fossil-based feedstocks at BP’s Rotterdam refinery and other port-related industries. The project could help reduce CO2 emissions by up to 350,000 tonnes per year, which is about 40,000 Dutch citizens’ average emissions. Xebec Adsorption has signed a contract with Belgium-based Desmet Ballestra to deliver the company’s first Hy.GEN-e on-site electrolyser unit for a food application. Wrigley founded Winch Energy Group in 2008 and served as its CEO until recently, after which he became non-executive Chairman. Universal Hydrogen has signed a letter of intent with Paris-based Amelia (by Regourd Aviation) for three ATR 72-600 hydrogen conversion kits. Amelia is the first airline in France to use Universal Hydrogen’s services. As of September 2021, Universal Hydrogen will have a presence in Toulouse, France, with the opening of its first European engineering center.
