Broad Reach Power plans to build 15 utility-scale battery storage plant sites in areas near Houston and Odessa by the end of 2020. DNV GL has launched a collaborative joint industry project (JIP) with 14 industry participants to develop the industry’s first recommended practice (RP) for floating solar power projects. Dutch Evides Waterbedrijf has completed and connected new floating solar park in Kralingen, in the vicinity of Rotterdam. According to the company, the solar park is able to generate around 9,500 kWh of renewable energy during a sunny day. The solar park will be officially opened at the beginning of July. The new 1,62MW solar park, partly located on land and partly floating on the reservoir, consists of total of 4,787 PV modules. Rotech Subsea has completed a three phase pit cleaning, cable lowering and de-burial scope at the Borssele and Triton Knoll offshore wind farms. Rotech Subsea provided TRS1 and TRS1LD jet trenching tools to carry out three major scopes of work: pit clearing and cable lowering at Borssele offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea as well as grout bag and cable de-burial at Triton Knoll offshore wind farm in English waters. Masdar has entered into an agreement with the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan to design, finance, build and operate a 500 megawatt utility-scale wind farm project. Ricardo and the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) have agreed to support the delivery of a new solar powered hydrogen production facility which is being developed as part of feasibility funding from the Rural Community Energy Fund. Brockwell Energy has sold Dalquhandy Wind Farm to BayWa r.e., a global renewable energy developer, service provider and distributor. The Dalquhandy wind scheme is a 45MW project located next to Coalburn in South Lanarkshire that will deliver enough power for 34,000 homes.
