ZeroAvia has signed a memorandum of understanding with PowerCell Sweden AB for the joint development and annual series delivery of at least 5,000 aviation-optimized Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell stacks. In accordance with the MOU, PowerCell wants to create a presence in the United Kingdom for the first time, constructing a production team alongside ZeroAvia’s production facilities. Johnson Matthey (JM), a global leader in sustainable technologies, has announced plans to construct an £80 million gigafactory at its existing facility in Royston, United Kingdom, to increase production of hydrogen fuel cell components. The introduction of a joint New South Wales and Victoria grant funding round has set off plans to build Australia’s first “renewable hydrogen highway” and green up one of the country’s busiest freight corridors along the east coast.
