Shell Nederland B.V. and Shell Overseas Investments B.V., subsidiaries of Shell plc, have made the final investment decision to construct Holland Hydrogen I, which, once operational in 2025, will be Europe’s largest renewable hydrogen plant. The 200MW electrolyzer will be built on the Tweede Maasvlakte near Rotterdam’s harbor and will generate up to 60,000 kg of renewable hydrogen per day. The offshore wind farm Hollandse Kust (noord), which is partially owned by Shell, will supply the electrolyzer with renewable energy. The renewable hydrogen produced will be transported via the HyTransPort pipeline to the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam, where…

First Hydrogen Limited, a subsidiary of First Hydrogen Corp., has submitted two Green Hydrogen production projects for the first round of funding through the Net Zero Hydrogen Fund (NZHF) Strand 1 program. The Ministry of Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) funds the program with £240 million. The NZHF is part of the UK government’s efforts to promote the production of green hydrogen and is a way of meeting the ambitious target of 10 GW of domestic production by 2030, of which ‘at least’ 5 GW must come from electrolytic sources. The two projects of the company will each have…

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) is forming a relationship with the provider of data solutions, TYCHO Solutions, to increase market transparency in the hydrogen sector. Using TYCHO’s business intelligence tool NOVA, both parties will provide hydrogen-related data on the EEX Transparency Platform using their respective areas of expertise. Young Mexico City-based startup TYCHO Solutions provides data solutions for renewable energy companies. In conjunction with Marketz (an Enoi Group firm), TYCHO has created the business intelligence platform NOVA for gathering, evaluating, and maintaining up-to-date information on hydrogen and related industries. By illustrating the trends, patterns, and relationships in the hydrogen and…

Project 117 will install two green hydrogen refueling stations along the Route 117 corridor, allowing heavy-duty trucks to travel between the Greater Montreal area and Abitibi-Témiscamingue. These green hydrogen refueling stations will be built near Val-d’Or and Saint-Jérôme and will be capable of refueling heavy-duty trucks with 350 bar or 700 bar pressures. Although Project 117 is primarily intended for heavy-duty trucks, hydrogen-powered automobiles will also be able to recharge at these stations. Each of the two green hydrogen refueling stations will be equipped with a 5 MW PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolyzer, whose capacity may be raised proportionally to…

Fusion Fuel, a Portuguese firm specializing in solar energy and ecological hydrogen solutions, has conceptually invented an electrolyzer that enables the direct conversion of solar energy into hydrogen. ISQ and TUV SUD will initiate the certification of this solution’s operational parameters. In Évora, the first Hevo Solar system will be installed. ISQ will support the unique and world-reference initiative that aims to revolutionize hydrogen generation, since the microelectrolyzer enables very cost-effective production, a milestone that was not projected to be attained until the end of the decade. “The [certification] service will be carried out by a joint venture between TUV…
