Symbio, Michelin and Faurecia’s hydrogen joint venture, announced an agreement with Germany’s Schaeffler to create a joint venture dedicated to the production of bipolar plates, a key component of membrane fuel cells. The joint venture will be based in Haguenau, Alsace, where it will commission a first plant in 2024. This plant is expected to reach a production of 50 million wafers per year and employ more than 120 people by 2030. Symbio and Schaeffler will be its only customers.
