The World Hydrogen 2022 Awards were presented on the evening of May 9th, 2022 at the Rotterdam Ahoy during the World Hydrogen 2022 Summit & Exhibition. The Green Hydrogen Project Award given to NEOM, the world’s largest green hydrogen project and a new model for sustainable living in Saudi Arabia. Maersk won the Hydrogen Industrial Application Award for their groundbreaking 12 ocean-going container ships that can run on carbon neutral methanol from green hydrogen. Randy Weterings, Electrification and Hydrogen at the Port of Rotterdam, received the Future Hydrogen Leader Award for his outstanding work integrating all the many programs, projects,…
Ballard Power Systems and Linamar Corporation have unveiled a potential class 2 truck chassis driven by hydrogen fuel cells. This week at the ACT Expo, the technology demonstration platform is presented in a RAM 2500 truck chassis. The new platform is currently undergoing testing, which will continue in 2022 and 2023. Linamar and Ballard formed a strategic agreement in May 2021 to jointly develop fuel cell powertrains for class 1 and 2 automobiles. This demonstration platform is the result of the partnership’s development. The class 2 truck chassis incorporates Ballard’s FCmove-HD+ heavy duty fuel cell module, which was introduced late…
HydrogenOne Capital Growth has executed definitive agreements for a £20 million (EUR24 million) investment in Elcogen. Biofuel OÜ and VNTM Powerfund II, a technology fund focused on renewable power, are shareholders of Elcogen. With this purchase of a minority share in Elcogen, HydrogenOne gains the right to a seat on the company’s board of directors. Elcogen is a fuel cell and electrolyser company with distinctive solid oxide technology and more than 60 established industrial clients throughout the world. Elcogen has created a reversible ceramic technology capable of converting hydrogen into emission-free electricity or green electricity. Elcogen’s solid oxide fuel cell…
Deutsche Bahn (DB) and Siemens Mobility continue to spearhead the shift to environmentally friendly rail transportation. At the Siemens facility in Krefeld, the two partners debuted pieces of their revolutionary integrated system: the newly created Mireo Plus H, the next-generation hydrogen-powered train, and a newly built mobile hydrogen storage trailer. The train and its accompanying infrastructure are designed to replace diesel multiple-unit trains in commuting and regional transportation and to eliminate CO2 emissions from rail transportation. The Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport is funding the “H2goesRail” initiative as part of the National Innovation Program for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell…
Fuel cell technology gives long-distance automobiles an environmentally superior option. Hydrogen trucks are the most environmentally benign option for long-distance road transport, according to a recent report by the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI). Despite the fact that electric vehicles do not produce any direct greenhouse gas emissions, the CO2 emissions resulting from the production of the vehicle itself, its battery, and the electricity production only result in a 30% reduction in emissions compared to a conventional diesel truck, according to the ATRI report. However, when the same elements and comparisons are included, hydrogen-powered trucks score substantially better. According to…
According to the study team, controlled combustion was achieved with conventional burners with mixes of up to 20% hydrogen in these early experiments, marking the project’s first significant milestone.
Hydrogen automobiles are a vital business for establishing a reduction structure in the hydrogen economy, such as production, supply, and consumption, but they are being criticized for ineffectiveness concerns such as slow growth of essential facilities like charging stations and expensive manufacturing prices.
Queensland-based transport group SeaLink Marine & Tourism has won state government backing to build a “world-first” internationally compliant renewable hydrogen-powered passenger ferry.
One of these initiatives, in particular, is of relevance since it includes the use of hydrogen as a fuel by military vehicles currently in service with the Spanish Armed Forces.
Egypt’s renewable energy sector has seen a number of triumphs, including the signing of many memorandums of understanding for the production of green hydrogen from renewable energy projects, million tons
