H2X Global, a hydrogen company, has ambitious intentions to deploy a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) manufactured in Australia in November. And the business is currently accepting orders for its hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the Warrego Ute, which is scheduled to begin production in April 2022. H2X Worldwide is also aiming for a late 2021/early 2022 IPO on a major global exchange and is now soliciting funds as it tries to establish itself as a world premium hydrogen car manufacturer. This is a prudent approach, as the hydrogen fuel cell market is expected to increase from over US$16 billion…
Wales & West Utilities has been granted permission by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to inject gas containing up to 1% hydrogen into its gas network in Swindon, the first time the HSE has authorized the usage of natural gas with a high hydrogen content on the national grid. The gas emergency and pipeline service is collaborating with ABSL, which will inject BioSNG into the existing gas network via their Swindon plant. This immediately reduces carbon emissions by up to 5,000 tonnes for over 2,500 local households. The BioSNG produced at the plant will contain up to 1% hydrogen,…
Thuringia’s Economic Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee, together with Mayor Heiko Voigt, IHK Südthüringen’s Chief Executive Dr. Ralf Pieterwas, and Institute Director Dr. Ulrich Palzer, kicked off construction work on the new Hyson Institute for Applied Hydrogen Research in Sonneberg with a symbolic first groundbreaking ceremony. The project’s overall cost is approximately 6.4 million euros, and the country is funding the construction with approximately 3.1 million euros from Community task “Improving Regional Economic Structure” funds (GRW). Including previously committed money for early research initiatives, the new institution’s Ministry of Economic Affairs thus gives almost six million euros in financial support this year…
Hyundai Motor Co. of South Korea topped global sales of hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicles in the January-July period. According to SNE Research, Hyundai sold a total of 5,300 hydrogen-powered vehicles in the first seven months, outpacing Toyota Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Co., which sold 4,100 and 200 units, respectively. Hyundai’s hydrogen car sales increased 44 percent year over year to 3,600 units in the seven-month period, while Toyota’s increased eightfold to 500 units. Hyundai’s Nexo hydrogen car primarily competes in the global market with Toyota’s Mirai. Between January and July, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, and others sold a total of…
Capacity Trucks, a REV Group company, has developed the first all-new hydrogen fuel cell electric hybrid terminal truck in North America. Two of these trucks were constructed by the business and are currently in service at the Port of Long Beach, California. Capacity Trucks developed these two hydrogen fuel cell hybrid electric cars as part of a grant given in 2019. They maximize uptime by supplying hydrogen power in the event that the electric battery needs to be recharged. This hydrogen fuel cell hybrid electric terminal truck is ideal for intermodal, port, warehousing, and distribution applications. Capacity Trucks is a…
Unfortunately, the majority of today’s hydrogen is derived from natural gas or fossil fuels, which increases the carbon impact.
During the first Hydrogen Shot Summit, Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm of the United States of America (DOE) introduced the Hydrogen Shot Fellowship to recruit diverse talent that can help make Hydrogen Shot a reality. Hydrogen Shot is a bold objective of “1 – 1 – 1” to reduce the cost of clean hydrogen to $1 per kilogram in a decade, an 80 percent reduction from the cost in 2020. Meeting Hydrogen Shot would include clean hydrogen in the toolset necessary to address the climate problem, generate well-paying American employment, and transition to a sustainable, fair energy future for…
At the 2021 ACT Expo in Long Beach, California, the business delivered on its promise by revealing its first Class 8 Hino XL8 prototype driven by a hydrogen fuel cell electric drivetrain.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MTIE) and the state-run Korea Gas Safety Corp. (KGS) announced that a new safety monitoring system for hydrogen filling stations had begun full-scale operations.
