North Queenslanders might be exporting 120,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen to South Korea within the next decade, after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Port of Townsville and Ark Energy. Energy, Renewables, and Hydrogen Minister Mick de Brenni stated that a feasibility study will be conducted to determine the viability of developing a renewable hydrogen facility geared toward the transport industry at Sun Metals’ zinc refinery in Townsville, as well as hydrogen export capabilities at the Port of Townsville. “The Palaszczuk Government’s economic recovery plan is all about creating more jobs and more industries,” Mr de…

Uniper Energy and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have reached an agreement to promote green hydrogen production at the Uniper site on Maasvlakte. These ideas are based on the conclusions of a recent feasibility study and are consistent with the planned expansion of hydrogen infrastructure and the growing need for sustainable hydrogen in the Rotterdam petrochemical industry. This arrangement, outlined in a memorandum of understanding (MOU), is a significant milestone in the region’s continued growth of the hydrogen value chain. Rotterdam is home to more than half of all Dutch IPCEI* hydrogen projects. Uniper’s concept is also on the Dutch…

ZeroAvia has placed an order for Hyzon’s next generation of lightweight high-performance fuel cells. ZeroAvia will study the ground-breaking fuel cell for use in its zero-emission aircraft research program, which is primarily focused on hydrogen-electric solutions. ZeroAvia chose Hyzon’s fuel cell stack for this evaluation because it offers the highest power density in the industry. As certified by TUV Rheinland, Hyzon’s Gen3 fuel cell stack achieves a volumetric power density of more than 6.0 kW/liter and a gravimetric power density of more than 5.5 kW/kg, both of which are much higher than industry averages. These parameters are crucial in aviation…
