The two gas network operators GASCADE and ONTRAS intend to provide a strong platform for East Germany’s hydrogen economy through the doing hydrogen project. doing hydrogen will support the German hydrogen industry and is the largest planned hydrogen project in East Germany to date. doing hydrogen is a platform that connects creative producers, remote gas network operators, and large consumers through their projects. By 2026, East Germany will have a climate-neutral hydrogen (H2) hub. The H2-Transport System, which GASCADE and ONTRAS intend to build, serves as a connecting element in this regard. This transportation system will be composed of around…

Three hydrogen projects involving RWE have been shortlisted for funding under the IPCEI programme: one in collaboration with partners from the GET H2 initiative, as well as the AquaPrimus 2 and HyTechHafen-Rostock initiatives. The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) and the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) announced this. These ministries are responsible for organizing the pre-selection of projects on a national basis in Germany. According to the German government, a total of 8 billion euros is available for German initiatives, with which the BMWi, the BMVI, and the German federal states seek to advance…
Macarthur Minerals Limited has entered into a Strategic Partnership and Collaboration Agreement with LAVO Hydrogen Technology Holding to investigate the facilitation of a staged technology solution aimed at delivering a clear carbon reduction strategy for Macarthur’s flagship Lake Giles Iron Project in Western Australia’s Yilgarn region, with a first phased roll-out to support Macarthur’s upcoming IPO. LAVO manufactures hydrogen energy batteries using a unique metal hydride process. The battery system functions as a solar sponge, interacting with solar arrays to collect and store renewable energy for later use. The machine makes hydrogen from water, stores it in LAVO’s unique metal…
Peel NRE, a subsidiary of Peel L&P, intends to build a second waste plastic to hydrogen facility near Rothesay Dock, West Dunbartonshire. The £20 million facility will collect non-recyclable plastics intended for waste, incineration, or shipment overseas and convert them into a sustainable hydrogen source on-site. Hydrogen will be utilized as a clean fuel for buses, vehicles, and HGVs, and the site will also include a hydrogen refueling station. The 13,500 tonne plant will be the second in the UK to utilise Powerhouse Energy Group plc’s technology, after the approval of plans for a similar plant at Peel NRE’s Protos plant…
Topsoe is committed to establishing a leadership position in the expanding green hydrogen market, which the International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates has the potential to meet 17% of world energy demand by 2050. Topsoe offers a unique end-to-end portfolio of green hydrogen production via electrolysis and associated downstream production of ammonia, methanol, and e-fuels. This portfolio enables clients to benefit from high-value products, efficient transportation and storage, and high yields. “At the core of our efforts is our capability to turn renewable power into essential carbon-neutral fuels and chemicals. We have Topsoe’s leading electrolysis technology, now we add the fully…
NewHydrogen, a developer of clean energy technologies, offered a significant update on the status of its development of green hydrogen technology through a funded research agreement with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The company’s sponsored research program at UCLA is now focused on developing alternatives to iridium, a rare valuable metal found exclusively in asteroids, that meet or exceed iridium’s performance qualities. The goal is to produce low-cost, resilient materials that have an exceptional ability to catalyze the electrochemical oxygen evolution process (OER) while also attaining high-performance water electrolysis for hydrogen production. Previously, the business announced that a…
Worley, an Australian energy services company, has been selected by Shell to assist with the development of a new 200MW electrolysis-based hydrogen plant in the Netherlands. The new plant in Rotterdam will be fueled entirely by renewable energy generated by an offshore wind farm currently under construction. Once completed, the green hydrogen plant will be one of the world’s largest commercial producers of green hydrogen. The plant is anticipated to begin operations in 2023 and is expected to produce between 50,000 and 60,000 kg of green hydrogen per day. The green hydrogen produced will initially be utilized to decarbonize Shell’s…
Global Energy Ventures (GEV) of Australia and ILF Beratend Ingenieure (ILF), a German engineering firm, have signed an agreement to identify and develop green hydrogen projects in Europe and Australia.
Alice Krekt, Project Director of H-vision, speaks with the Port of Rotterdam. Alice is also the Climate Program Director at Deltalinqs, a Rotterdam-based trade association that represents 700 companies from 14 industries.
BMW has been experimenting with hydrogen for nearly two decades, trying to figure out how to make it a viable, large-scale solution.
