Equinor and SINTEF have agreed on strategic partnership in four main areas. The fields concerned are offshore wind, marine systems, energy systems and modeling studies relevant to these areas. Ørsted has made a final investment decision on the Old 300 Solar Center, which is located in Fort Bend County, 40 miles from Houston, Texas, and is scheduled to be come online in Q2 2022. With the addition of Old 300, Ørsted has substantially expanded its solar portfolio and now has 1.1 GW of solar PV under construction, resulting in a total capacity of 3.4 GW in operation and under construction through onshore wind, solar PV and storage. MHI Vestas and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) have secured a 5000 square meter site centrally located in zone 1 of Taichung Harbour, adjacent to the pre-assembly quayside of CIP’s Changfang & Xidao offshore wind project. The site is intended for assembly activities for some of the projects to be delivered in Taiwan using V174 technology. This site is being leased from Fortune Extra High Voltage, a subsidiary of Fortune Electric. Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has, on behalf of the Australian Government, provided $12.9 million in funding to the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) for the development of a major Victorian Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Marketplace trial named Project Edge. Enel and Eni are working together to produce green hydrogen through electrolyzers powered by renewable energy.  The electrolyzers will be located near two of the Eni refineries where green hydrogen appears to be the best decarbonisation method. The Nordex Group has received the IEC Type Certificate, which is valid worldwide, in compliance with the IEC 61400-22 standard for the N149/5.X turbine from TÜV SÜD. In the past few months, TÜV SÜD has been testing and evaluating the overall concept as well as all the key components of the N149/5.X turbine as part of a type certification process focused on international IEC standards. Casa dos Ventos has placed an order of 534 MW for the second stage of the Rio do Vento complex, located in the State of Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil. Business development organizations of Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Niedersachsen, and Schleswig-Holstein have joined forces to form the green hydrogen initiative HY-5. The new initiative aims to turn Northern Germany into the strongest emerging region for green hydrogen in the heart of Europe and to complete the value chain for green hydrogen.
