The Australian Hydrogen Council (AHC) and the Japan-Australia Business Co-operation Committee (JABCC) have co-hosted the first Australia-Japan meeting on hydrogen and derivatives with the aim of accelerating and increasing investment in clean energy technologies and creating a clean and resilient energy future.

Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) has launched Florida’s first hydrogen power plant pilot program at its Cavendish NextGen Hydrogen Hub, part of the larger Okeechobee power plant. The program will test the feasibility of using hydrogen instead of natural gas to fuel power plants.

ABB has been contracted by Danish company H2 Energy Esbjerg ApS to provide basic electrical engineering for its 1 GW hydrogen production facility in Esbjerg, Denmark. The plant is expected to produce up to 90,000 tons of hydrogen per year, making it the largest green hydrogen plant in Europe.

Trafigura Group has agreed to increase its shareholding in H2 Energy Europe to become majority owners. This move comes as the company ramps up its development plans for large-scale green hydrogen production projects and mid- and downstream hydrogen supply and distribution infrastructure in Europe.
