ABL Space Systems announced on Sept. 16 that the NASA Cryogenic Demonstration Mission spacecraft will be launched in 2023 on its RS1 rocket.

The company would prefer pay dividends to shareholders than invest in wind and solar power projects, which produce minimal financial returns.

Schlumberger New Energy led the round, which was joined by Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures and Stanford University, among others.

CO2 reduction objectives are also being set for gas-fired power plants. Operators may mix methane and up to 20% hydrogen to reach these aggressive objectives and reduce CO2 emissions.

The study is significant because employing carbon-free, clean-burning fuels like hydrogen will provide an alternative to carbon-based fuels, which emit greenhouse gases and contribute to climate change. Hydrogen is the most plentiful element in the universe, and it may be made from a variety of sources.

Based on stations that are now Open-Retail or under development, this year’s analysis is the first to suggest that AB 8’s 100-station target might be met by the end of 2023.

Linde’s investment in the plant, which is located at 4501 Royal Ave., is part of the company’s effort to help New York become carbon-neutral and achieve the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), which requires 100 percent zero-emission electricity by 2040.

The non-legally binding agreement also paves the way for the state’s first hydrogen fuel station to be built in Lewis County, as well as new chances for alternative fuel development.

The Minister of Energy and Mining, Juan Carlos Jobet, was in attendance, as were executives from Enel Green Power Chile, AME, Siemens Energy, Porsche, Enap, and Exxon Mobile, as well as local authorities.

Over 40 refueling stations are strategically located between Quebec City, Quebec and Vancouver, British Columbia as part of the project.
