Together with the Korea Hydrogen Industry Association (KHIA), Emerson Korea created a hydrogen town in Ulsan Metropolitan City to reinvigorate the hydrogen economy. Towards that end, Emerson Korea and the Korea Hydrogen Industry Association have agreed to work together under the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding. By collaborating on the Ulsan hydrogen town development project, Emerson Korea and the Korea Hydrogen Industry Association will increase the implementation and supply of hydrogen-based sustainable energy infrastructure. Hydrogen Town, a proposed metropolis where hydrogen fuel cells provide most of the city’s energy needs, is part of a larger effort to enhance city…

Swietelsky Rail Benelux B.V. was awarded the contract to build a new pipeline strip along the Moezelweg by the Port of Rotterdam Authority following a European bidding procedure. The project is an important milestone in the development of energy transition infrastructure. The pipeline strip will house hydrogen and carbon dioxide transport pipes for HyTransPort.RTM and Porthos. Improving service along Moezelweg in the Europoort region will necessitate the relocation of the current trunk line, the construction of an earth retaining structure, and the excavation of a portion of the embankment. Six or seven wires and pipes will fit in the new…
Quantron and Ballard Power Systems partnered to produce an FCEV Heavy Duty Truck. The Quantron QHM FCEV uses Ballard’s FCmove-XD 120 kW fuel cell with Allison Transmission’s eGen Power 130D E-axle. Quantron offers an optional aero package for all QHM FCEV trucks to boost range by 10%. This configuration will also be offered as a road train for long-distance heavy load transportation. Quantron presents an all-electric heavy-duty truck platform at the IAA Transportation. The Quantron QHM BEV is available as the Quantron QHM BEV 44-400 tractor unit and the Quantron QHM BEV 27-400 chassis. The 392 kWh high-voltage battery may…
Ballard Power Systems made a minority equity investment in Quantron AG, a global electric vehicle integrator and developing specialist OEM, to speed fuel cell truck adoption. Under the provisions of the Joint Development Agreement, the investment funds provided by Ballard will be utilized by Quantron to advance the development of their truck fuel cell vehicle platforms as part of a financing round of up to 50 million euros. Quantron has chosen Ballard as its exclusive fuel cell provider for these systems. Quantron, as part of the strategic agreement, has agreed to purchase 140 FCmoveTM modules with a combined output of…
According to a letter from French energy minister Agnes Pannier-Runacher to EU Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson, Brussels should likewise classify hydrogen produced from low-carbon energy sources like nuclear as “green.” By 2030, the European Union (EU) plans to have produced 10 million tons of renewable hydrogen and imported 10 million tons of renewable hydrogen as part of its REPowerEU programme. A letter written by Pannier-Runacher and cited by EURACTIV states, “the only important issue is the carbon content of the hydrogen produced and not the production vector.” She claims that low-carbon hydrogen is essential to the European Union’s (EU’s) ability…
During the first-ever India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable, an Indian team met with Singapore’s deputy prime minister, Lawerence Wong, to discuss investment opportunities in India’s green energy industries (ISMR). A roundtable discussion on renewable energy and green hydrogen in India was led by G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant and Niti Ayog CEO Parmeswaran Iyer. The delegates from both countries met in Singapore to discuss how they might better work together. To entice international investment in India’s renewable energy sector, the government is likely to propose green bonds and other novel types of financing. The two nations will explore the possibility of creating a…
Alternative energy is being sought out through the HyAfrica project, which is investigating the availability of natural hydrogen resources in numerous African countries. Almost one million Euros come from the European Union and the African Union’s long-term collaborative research and innovation collaboration in the field of renewable energies (LEAP-RE). HyAfrica is the world’s first worldwide research effort focused on harnessing the power of natural hydrogen. “Towards a next-generation renewable energy source — a natural hydrogen solution for power supply in Africa” is what HyAfrica stands for. This research is looking into the feasibility of using the hydrogen present in certain…
The Center for Technology Development of the City of Energy Foundation (CIUDEN) in Cubillos del Sil (León) is looking for research and development projects that promote the development of green hydrogen and energy storage technologies. This initiative was launched by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO). The ministry claims that by doing so, it is able to open a line of communication with all parties interested in pursuing initiatives related to the full value chain of green hydrogen and energy storage. First, CIUDEN will use the available contracting mechanisms to buy process units that adhere…
TECO 2030 has introduced a new product concept for its containerized fuel cells, the TECO 2030 Power Barge. Batteries, power electronics, safety and automation systems, hydrogen storage, and a refueling solution are all part of the comprehensive package that is the TECO 2030 fuel cell modules. The idea provides a scalable, multi-megawatt approach to producing electricity for shore power using hydrogen. The concept has many advantages, including improved security, lower operating costs, less need for available land, greater adaptability, and no hazardous emissions. The plan is consistent with the European Commission’s proposal to allocate more than 5 billion Euros for…
Taxi Verts, a firm based in Brussels, just put into service the city’s first hydrogen-powered vehicle. Eoly-Energy, a firm working in the field of renewable energy, assisted the business in the launch of their prototype vehicle. Hydrogen taxis will be tested in a year-long trial program designed to evaluate the vehicles’ viability in dense metropolitan environments. When Taxi Vets debuts its prototype, it will be powered by hydrogen that has been manufactured entirely from renewable energy. In addition, the hydrogen taxi will have two drivers who have received instruction from Eoly on how to operate the vehicle and its hydrogen…
