OWC has secured a framework agreement from Mayflower Wind, the 50/50 joint venture between Shell and EDP Renewables, for the provision of engineering support to the US wind farm development. OWC’s scope of work awarded to date is to provide electrical, SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and power systems support to the offshore wind development. Trina Solar has signed an investment cooperation agreement with the Management Committee of Yancheng Economic and Technological Development Zone in Jiangsu province to expand its manufacturing capacity of 210mm solar cells. In line with Tina Solar’s strategies, the company will add 7.6GW in annual production capacity at its Yancheng production site, and will increase 2.5GW cell capacity outside of China.  Another 2.4GW of existing production capacity at the Yancheng site will be upgraded. Blue Gem Wind, the joint venture between Total and Simply Blue Energy, has secured seabed rights to develop Wales’ first floating offshore wind farm. Statkraft has submitted plans for a proposed extension to Berry Burn wind farm in Moray to the Scottish Government. The proposed development is an extension to the operational Berry Burn wind farm located approximately eight kilometres south of Forres. The proposal includes adding 9 turbines to the existing 29 turbine wind farm, with a maximum height of 149.9 metres to blade tip. Danske Commodities has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for 480 MW with the world’s largest offshore wind farm, Dogger Bank.
