BMW will begin mass-producing and marketing fuel cell vehicles co-developed with Toyota Motor as early as 2025, highlighting the German automaker’s drive towards greener vehicles in the face of increasingly stringent environmental rules in Europe. In September 2021, BMW debuted the fuel cell iX5 Hydrogen concept vehicle at the International Motor Show in Germany. The business previously claimed that small-scale manufacture of the sport utility vehicle will commence before the end of 2022. FCVs can be refueled in three to four minutes, which is considerably quicker than battery electric vehicles. BMW has not disclosed the iX5’s range, however the vehicle…
Researchers from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) have devised a novel technique for accelerating the charging of solid-state hydrogen fuel cells. Hydrogen is garnering a great deal of interest as an effective way to store ‘green energy’ from renewable sources such as wind and solar. Hydrogen is most frequently kept as a compressed gas, although it may also be stored as a liquid or solid. Dr. Saidul Islam of the University of Technology Sydney stated that solid hydrogen storage, and in particular metal hydride, is drawing interest since it is safer, more…
India’s first indigenous Hydrogen-fueled electric vessel, which is being constructed by the Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), would be delivered between March and April of next year, according to Madhu S Nair, chairman and managing director of CSL. The engineering and construction of the hydrogen-powered electric vessel, which is a pilot project, are scheduled to begin very soon, according to Nair, who added that the order to acquire the necessary equipment will be placed shortly. During a press conference in Kochi, the chairman of Cochin Shipyard Limited also discussed the building of the ship lift-based shipyard, stating that the facility is…
Senator Schumer clarified that RGRTA was chosen as the winner of the Low and No Emission Vehicle Program Program, which he defined as a competitive grant.
Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services will be handled by Spirare Energy, while Ohmium will provide its hydrogen electrolyzers.
The representative group described as “extremely speculative” the hope that green hydrogen and carbon capture and storage could be quickly produced and implemented.
The projected Richmond facility would use the Raven’s non-combustion process using landfill gas (LFG) to create hydrogen.
Nel projects that the installation of a second manufacturing line at Herya would require a total capital commitment for equipment of about €35 million.
This deployment follows a productive initial Sodar wind resource monitoring effort, which the developer is now expanding in the surrounding area.
30 million tons of hydrogen would take 1,590,000,000,000 kWh, or 1590 TWh, of green power to produce.
