At the launch of Erlangen’s first hydrogen filling station as part of the WEEK OF HYDROGEN SOUTH (#WDWS2022), Europe’s most environmentally friendly hydrogen bus, ARTHUR H2 ZERO, can be seen operating live for the first time. As a partner of the H2 CityTour Erlangen and a supporter of H2 MOBILITY Deutschland, Hydrogenious, and SIEMENS Energy in the commissioning of the H2 filling station in Erlangen, ARTHUR is introducing itself and its mobility solution at #WDWS2022. Along with representatives from BtX Energy, HiTES Holding GmbH, Green H2, and Ostermeier H2ydrogen Solutions, Philipp Glonner, CEO of ARTHUR, will also discuss the business…
ReNu Energy and Countrywide Hydrogen announced the signing of a Term Sheet Agreement with Tas Gas Networks and Tas Gas Retail. The Term Sheet states the parties’ duties and their desire to collaborate in order to accomplish 100 percent green hydrogen delivery to industrial clients and the incorporation of green hydrogen into the current natural gas distribution network. The Term Sheet grants Tas Gas Networks the opportunity to become an equity participant in the Project and grants ReNu Energy and Countrywide an exclusive period to advance the Project. As reported to the ASX on 24 June 2022, Countrywide is finalising…
According to studies, plant waste, leftover food, sewage, and other organic waste could be a useful source of “green” hydrogen for transportation and industry. The team from Fraunhofer IPA in Stuttgart, Germany, discovered that regionally produced green hydrogen might replace up to 30 percent of fossil fuel energy in certain regions within ten years. Every year, Germany generates around 15 million tons of organic waste, comprising plant waste and rubbish from public parks, agriculture, food production, sewage byproducts, and leftover food. The majority is transported to composting facilities or burnt to generate heat and electricity, resulting in carbon dioxide (CO2)…
To meet environmental targets and drastically reduce global CO2 emissions, the transportation sector must rely on multiple renewable energy carriers. In addition to the rapid rise of battery-electric vehicles, hydrogen is becoming one of the important alternatives. TNO Traffic & Transport is helping to advance the energy transition by accelerating the maturity of alternative propulsion technologies, such as hydrogen technology, for market introduction, and by providing effective policy support to governments. Hydrogen plays an important role in our economy. It can be used to make industrial processes more sustainable and to facilitate the storage of sustainably generated energy from sun…
Puglia is accelerating on the path toward a hydrogen hub. A public notice has been published to identify the experts who will form the Regional Observatory that will have the task of monitoring and analyzing data related to the hydrogen supply chain, and provide support in the definition of regional planning in order to link the initiatives promoted and more effectively incentivize the economy based on hydrogen produced from renewable sources. “In the path of energy transition and decarbonization,” said Economic Development Councillor Alessandro Delli Noci, “hydrogen plays a fundamental role both in ensuring the achievement of Agenda 2030 commitments…
Oxford and Cardiff academics are collaborating with CarbonMeta Research Ltd. to convert plastic waste into clean hydrogen fuel and high-value carbon nanomaterials. CarbonMeta Research Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of CarbonMeta Technologies, is commercializing a groundbreaking technology dubbed “microwave catalysis” from the University of Oxford, and the company is planning to process waste plastic at scale in custom-designed microwave machines, yielding high-value products for industry. One metric ton of plastic combined with two hundred kilograms of iron powder catalyst can selectively produce enough hydrogen to heat approximately two hundred homes, as well as produce 900 kilograms of graphite and carbon nanotubes…
In July, federal researchers plan to establish a significant benchmark for the 10-minute refueling of heavy-duty fuel-cell hydrogen trucks, clearing the way for prototype hardware and protocols for fueling stations. Shaun Onorato, project lead for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL) hydrogen infrastructure initiative for heavy trucks, described to Transport Topics the significant efforts being taken by the U.S. Department of Energy to make this cutting-edge technology a reality. Onorato stated, “It’s incredibly fascinating to be a part of how this industry may be shaped and to see the first sets of all these brand-new components and protocols.” “I liken…
The Ministry of Ecological Transition (MITE) has approved – and published on its website – the list of projects eligible for funding put out to tender last March: this is 50 million euros allocated from the M2C2 3.5 investment of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, of which 20 million euros are for projects by public research organizations (institutions and universities) and 30 million euros for research projects developed by companies (another 110 million allocated by the PNRR for the same expenditure chapter was allocated to ENEA through a special program agreement). As for the call reserved for public institutions,…
