The Quebec Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has issued Charbone Hydrogène an environmental permission certificate for the production of green hydrogen at the Sorel-Tracy plant. On Monday, June 20, a groundbreaking ceremony was place on the grounds of the port complex, close to the former Hydro-Québec power plant. This environmental authorization will eventually let Charbone to create up to 5,500 MW of green hydrogen for phases 1, 2, and 3. Everfuel A/S and Crossbridge Energy A/S have signed a long-term agreement specifying the conditions for hydrogen delivery from the first phase of Everfuel’s HySynergy Phase II PtX facility in Fredericia, Denmark, which is currently under construction.
