It is funded by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, which is the successor of the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU).
Clean hydrogen is being hailed as a potential panacea for decarbonizing sectors such as steel and chemicals. These sectors are now unable to be fully electrified due to the high energy demands of industrial operations and chemical reactions.
Small and medium-sized businesses (such as network administrators, installers, and other technical organizations) may now arrange hydrogen training courses for their employees, conduct physical testing, and exhibit their expertise through the new Hydrogen Innovation Network Groningen (WING). The test network may be located at EnTranCe – Center of Expertise Energy of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen’s energy transition testing ground.
This project will be carried out in conjunction with Toyota Tsusho, Toyota Tsusho America, Hino Motor Manufacturing, and Hino Motor Manufacturing USA, and will last from February 2022 to March 2026.
IMPSA has been awarded the provision of 17 masts and wind measurement instruments by the Australian company Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) for its first and largest green hydrogen project in Argentina, which will be erected in the province of Río Negro. The masts, which will be used solely for evaluation reasons, represent the start of the Australian group’s investment in the country and establish IMPSA as a critical player in the project’s development. FFI announced an investment of 8.4 billion dollars in this project in November 2021, during the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (COP26). The project aims…
The CSIC has developed the first public hydrogen station in Spain that uses green hydrogen produced on-site using solar energy. Electrolyzers driven by sun trackers and photovoltaic panels will produce hydrogen at the service station. It will also have a modular and flexible intelligent control system that predicts output and demand. The hydrogen station will have a minimum renewable production capacity of 60 kg of hydrogen per day and can feed trucks, buses, vehicles, and logistics. A deal with Zoilo Ros will allow the new technology to be tested. It will be tested at the company’s El Cisne station on…
Keele University is leading a new initiative aimed at promoting and facilitating the development of a new hydrogen economy in the Midlands. ‘HyDEX’ brings together university partners in the Energy Research Accelerator (ERA), multinational corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and other partners to accelerate hydrogen innovation, develop markets and supply chains, and support the development of the skills necessary for the new hydrogen economy and ecosystem. HyDEX’s mission is to face the challenge of establishing a vibrant new economic, industrial, and manufacturing sector in hydrogen, where there is currently very little. The plan will enable firms to speed the…
“We will shortly establish a hydrogen diplomacy bureau in Kyiv to expedite the start of actual initiatives,” German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock stated during a joint news conference in Kyiv with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, a Ukrinform correspondent writes. The spokesperson stated that during her present tour, she expected to meet with Ukrainian officials and hydrogen experts. As previously said, energy cooperation between the two countries is unique and critical to attaining the Paris climate goals, increasing energy efficiency, bolstering energy sovereignty, and achieving energy independence. Both countries will need to invest heavily in renewable energy and the usage…
Iraq’s Ministry of Oil announced a deal with Siemens to create hydrogen. The ministry stated in a statement that it is in discussions with Siemens about ways to begin depending on renewable energy, particularly hydrogen production, which would pave the way for the country to achieve its objective of 100% green energy. According to the statement, the German corporation will supply innovative equipment and techniques to the Iraqi energy sector, as well as host workshops to brainstorm solutions to the country’s energy crisis. The Ministry highlighted that it ran a thorough workshop on hydrogen generation today in collaboration with Siemens.…
Centrale Nantes has recently been awarded €2.8 million in CPER financing (French state/regional infrastructure planning and investment program) to establish the GENIUS project, a demonstration platform for the production, storage, and use of green hydrogen. Launched at the end of 2021, the GENIUS project is directly related to the Pays de la Loire region’s hydrogen plan and is a component of Centrale Nantes’ hydrogen strategy. Professor Malek Ghanes of the Laboratory of Digital Sciences of Nantes (LS2N) and leader of the Renault Centrale Nantes chair on electric cars is leading the GENIUS effort at Centrale Nantes. This initiative, which will…
