INOVYN has announced a collaboration with the Netherlands-based VT Group (Verenigde Tankrederij) to develop Europe’s first hydrogen-powered bulk liquid chemical barge. This is part of INOVYN’s ongoing goal to produce green hydrogen and to eventually phase out carbon-based energy, feedstocks, and fuel sources. The hydrogen-powered barge will transport INOVYN’s critical raw materials between its Antwerp and Jemeppe, Belgium, locations. INOVYN will supply the low carbon hydrogen required to power the barge as a byproduct of its chemical manufacturing operations. Shell New Energies, a subsidiary of the worldwide energy company, established a novel technical solution for the off-grid power supply of a mobile pressurized hydrogen filling station. HyShelter’s wide application areas include uninterruptible emergency power supply for data centers, municipal utilities, hospitals, and other important public facilities, as well as off-grid charging infrastructure for battery-electric vehicles.
