The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has sold a cargo of blue ammonia to Japan’s INPEX for use in power generation applications, in collaboration with Fertiglobe. The sale builds on recently announced joint efforts to strengthen industrial cooperation between the UAE and Japan and to assist the establishment of new UAE-Japan blue ammonia supply chains. It also follows the recent sale of blue ammonia cargos to Japanese companies Itochu and Idemtisu. ADNOC and INPEX have a long and trusted history of collaboration. INPEX is a partner in a number of ADNOC’s upstream concessions, collaborated with ADNOC and Intercontinental Exchange…

Honeywell is creating a new technology suite for small drones that will increase their flight time by three times and require less human involvement. In comparison to traditional drones that rely on batteries and line-of-sight radio links, drones equipped with Honeywell’s Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) technologies can fly farther, carry more weight, avoid hazards up to three kilometers away, and stream video of their progress from any location on Earth. “These are technologies that businesses have been waiting for,” said Stéphane Fymat, vice president and general manager of Honeywell’s Unmanned Aerial Systems and Urban Air Mobility business unit.…
Linde has entered into a long-term arrangement with Infineon Technologies to produce and store high-purity green hydrogen on-site, in addition to providing other industrial gases. This will be the first time that green hydrogen will be employed in the semiconductor production process at Infineon. Linde will construct, own, and operate a two-megawatt electrolyzer plant at Infineon’s Austrian Villach facility. Green hydrogen will be generated at the plant using ITM Power’s Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) technology, which Linde will purify to fulfill the stringent criteria required by Infineon’s manufacturing process. Utilization of this ultra-pure green hydrogen is part of Infineon’s strategy…
Everfuel A/S and ASKO AS have signed a letter of intent (LoI) to collaborate on building a coordinated plan for applying to Enova for funding to support vehicle purchase and the installation of green hydrogen infrastructure in Norway in order to decarbonize heavy-duty long-haul trucking. ASKO is Norway’s largest distributor of groceries and catering, with a nationwide network of central and regional warehouses and a sophisticated logistics system. ASKO is also a major national cargo carrier, with a fleet of over 700 large and medium-sized trucks, both owned and leased. The corporation has declared that it intends to achieve zero…
The BMW Group is relentless in its pursuit of hydrogen fuel cell technology as a viable alternative for sustainable individual mobility. BMW will launch the BMW iX5 Hydrogen at the IAA Mobility 2021 in Munich, two years after debuting the BMW I Hydrogen NEXT concept car. The Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) with hydrogen fuel cell drive train is now in serial development and will be one of several vehicles visitors can experience as they go down the Blue Lane connecting the major exhibition grounds to other exhibition locations in the city center. From the end of next year, a small…
Loop Energy, a researcher and manufacturer of hydrogen fuel cell-based solutions, announces the signing of a commercial deal with NGVI, a South Korean manufacturer of turnkey compressed natural gas and hydrogen fuel cell systems for transit and coach bus applications. This development is significant for Loop Energy since it signals the acceleration of the eFlow fuel cell platform’s adoption within the transit bus market vertical, as well as the company’s official entry into South Korea’s highly dynamic zero-emission commercial vehicle industry. NGVI will receive the latest iteration of Loop Energy’s hydrogen fuel cell system offering, which includes a fully integrated…
St1 Nordic Oy and Horisont Energi AS, a Norwegian clean energy firm, announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the construction of a green ammonia project in Finnmark, Northern Norway. The partnership’s objective is to create green ammonia using a diverse array of renewable energy products for transportation and industry. St1 and Horisont Energi will perform feasibility studies for green ammonia production in Finnmark using electrolysis powered by wind energy and hydrogen derived from a variety of green feedstocks, as well as the usage of numerous new and alternative technologies for green ammonia production. Additionally, the…
Hydrogen transport projects in the Tees Valley would position the UK as a world leader in the technology and accelerate our progress toward net zero, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said Tuesday (17 August 2021), as he announced the winners of a £2.5 million research and development competition. If the trials are successful, supermarkets, emergency services, and delivery companies will begin employing hydrogen-powered vehicles to transport goods and provide local services. Additionally, the trials will help us understand the role hydrogen plays in achieving our 2050 net-zero energy goals, which will shape our future investment decisions and prime export potential. Ricardo…
Raven SR Inc., a renewable fuels firm, has closed a $20 million strategic investment from Chevron U.S.A Inc., ITOCHU Corporation, Hyzon Motors Inc., and Ascent Hydrogen Fund. Raven SR intends to construct modular waste-to-green hydrogen production units and renewable synthetic fuel facilities in California first, and eventually throughout the world. Raven SR’s technology distinguishes it as one of the world’s only combustion-free waste-to-hydrogen manufacturers. In contrast to other waste disposal methods such as incineration or gasification, Raven SR’s Steam/CO2 Reformation process does not use combustion. Raven SR’s technology is meant to produce more green hydrogen per ton of garbage and…
While hydrogen energy may appear to be a dream, it is the way of the future. A new type of energy that is both ecologically friendly and abundant, it is now being developed and applied globally. In Japan, achieving a so-called “hydrogen society”—a society powered by an infinite supply of clean hydrogen energy—has become a national ambition. Hydrogen energy will provide the foundation for a range of infrastructure in the future, from fuel cell cogeneration to forms of transportation such as hydrogen automobiles and buses. Japan’s “Basic Hydrogen Strategy” lays out an action plan for 2030 and a vision for 2050.…
