Haskel Hydrogen Systems has been awarded a contract to supply ATCO and Fortescue Metals Group (Fortescue) with fully packaged refueling systems for their H2 Refueller project, which has recently received backing from the Western Australian Government. The project will focus on the design and construction of the first H2 refueling station in Western Australia (WA), which will be led by Haskel, and will support ATCO’s and Fortescue’s fleet of Toyota Mirais, hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles that produce no emissions other than pure water. ORIX Corporation has signed a framework agreement for the partial acquisition of shares in Greenko Energy, a company undertaking renewable energy business in India. Going forward, ORIX aims to execute definitive agreements and completion of the transaction by the end of the year subject to investment committee approval after completing due diligence and other legal procedures required. Australia and Germany have signed an agreement for a joint feasibility study to investigate the supply chain between the two countries on hydrogen produced from renewable energy. The joint feasability study will span production, storage, transport and use of renewable hydrogen. It will also assess current technology and research, and identify barriers for the development of a hydrogen industry. Snam and Saipem have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to start working together on new energy transition technologies, from green hydrogen to capturing and reusing CO2, with the aim of fighting climate change and contributing to the launch of the hydrogen market, supporting the European Commission’s Hydrogen Strategy. ENGIE and ArianeGroup have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of renewable liquid hydrogen to speed up the decarbonization of heavy-duty and long-distance transportation. Renewable liquid hydrogen is a zero-emissions alternative to fossil fuels and an answer to the specific storage and endurance requirements of sectors such as maritime and rail transport and aviation.
