GroenLeven has agreed to purchase green hydrogen from the Sinnewetterstof project in Oosterwolde from Orangegas. GroenLeven will generate hydrogen on-site using power generated by the solar park. Orangegas will distribute this hydrogen through a network of filling stations spread over the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Alliander has begun preparing for the project’s construction. At periods when solar energy is abundant, an electrolyser turns it to hydrogen in the Sinnewetterstof project. Thus, the project contributes to grid congestion resolution in the Netherlands. This created energy is not lost, but can be stored locally in a sustainable manner using this hydrogen solution. The trial…

Siemens Gamesa released an industry whitepaper titled Unlocking the Green Hydrogen Revolution, outlining an ambitious plan to produce cost-competitive green hydrogen from onshore wind by 2030 and offshore wind by 2035. Siemens Gamesa advocates for a collaborative approach to both market demand and production scaling, outlining four critical prerequisites for delivering low-cost green hydrogen over the next decade. Increase the capacity of renewables significantly, as the green hydrogen revolution is reliant on it. By 2050, the globe would require up to 6,000 GW of new installed renewable energy capacity, up from 2,800 GW currently, to meet anticipated hydrogen consumption (500…

Dow Benelux unveiled a path for reducing the existing CO2 emissions from its Terneuzen, Netherlands, operations by more than 40% by 2030 and achieving net CO2 neutrality by 2050. Terneuzen becomes an exceptional location and role model for the company’s global transition to carbon neutrality by 2050, as outlined in the roadmap. The roadmap is divided into three phases. The plan’s first phase calls for the development of a clean hydrogen factory that will convert byproducts into hydrogen and CO2. Hydrogen is employed as a zero-emission fuel in the manufacturing process. CO2 is caught and stored indefinitely in the absence of…
