Tata Power has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) to develop a 100 MW solar project in Dholera Solar Park of Gujarat. The energy will be supplied to GUVNL under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), valid for a period of 25 years from scheduled commercial operation date. The project has to be commissioned within 15 months from the date of execution of the PPA. OG&E, the electric utility subsidiary of OGE Energy, has completed construction of two 5 MW solar energy farms in southeast Oklahoma. In February, the company announced it would build the two solar energy centers, one in Davis, Oklahoma, and one in Durant, Oklahoma, to help meet the renewable energy needs of the Chickasaw Nation and the Choctaw Nation respectively. Both tribes have purchased approximately 50% of each energy center’s solar output through OG&E’s solar tariff. The remaining solar capacity was made available to all customers. Altus Power America has recently completed the construction of a 7.5 MW ground-mounted solar system in Ewa, Hawaii. Altus Power partnered with developer Environmental Chemical Corporation (ECC) and with EPC contractor, REC Solar Commercial Corporation. The project will generate over 12,400 megawatt hours of electricity during its first year of operation.
