A total of 1.8 million euros was invested by SMEs. A third of the money will be paid in cash, while the other two-thirds will be paid in new MKB Nedsense shares.
Eelde is expected to be the first hydrogen-powered airport in Europe. As a result, it should serve as a test bed for larger airports.
Although the state-owned firm is a significant actor and beneficiary of public funds, it thinks that before those billions are invested, rigorous restrictions must be placed on participating enterprises.
The developer of Australia’s largest clean hydrogen hub has agreed to pay $30 million to US manufacturer Babcock and Wilcox to build a biomass-to-hydrogen project at the site. As governments and business spend more in developing the nation’s nascent zero-emissions hydrogen economy, Port Anthony Renewables is bringing the technology of New York-listed Babcock and Wilcox for hydrogen production from waste timber to its hub in Victoria’s Gippsland region. “The Port Anthony area has always been a cornerstone of the offshore energy industry,” Port Anthony Renewables managing director Ben Anthony said. “This jointly developed Babcock and Wilcox project represents not only…
RWE and John Cockerill are collaborating on the construction of a testing facility in Germany that will optimize a critical stage in the process of converting domestic garbage to hydrogen. The facility, dubbed a torrefaction plant, will be constructed at RWE’s research center in Niederaußem (Germany), and will be used to evaluate the manufacture of waste-derived feedstock pellets for use in the company’s unique FUREC waste-to-hydrogen venture. RWE will invest €3 million in the pilot plant, which will begin operations in July 2022. The NESA Multi-Hearth furnace (MHF), a technology offered by John Cockerill Environment, is at the heart of…
Marine Power Systems and Marine2o will collaborate to develop integrated solutions to assist the production of green hydrogen, which will be transported to market via marine boats. This initial collaboration will help pave the way for the deployment of MPS’ revolutionary offshore wind and wave energy capture devices to generate green hydrogen in the UK and other markets. Although the hydrogen market is firmly established, more than 98 percent of hydrogen is sourced from fossil sources. Hydrogen may be produced using renewable energy by electrolysis of water and has the potential to directly displace fossil fuels while also creating new…
Linde has begun construction of a new world-scale hydrogen production facility in Texas, raising Linde’s total hydrogen capacity on the US Gulf Coast to around 1.5 billion cubic feet per day. Linde’s new facility has begun supplying high-purity hydrogen to Phillips 66’s Sweeny Refinery in Old Ocean, Texas, as part of a long-term supply arrangement. The new facility is located on Linde’s approximately 600-kilometer-long United States Gulf Coast hydrogen pipeline, which connects Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Freeport, Texas, and has been extended to include the Sweeny Refinery. Along with providing Phillips 66, the new facility will address the region’s expanding…
Edinburgh Airport and renewable energy firm Ørsted have formed a collaboration to outline ideas to decarbonize the airport and expedite the transition to sustainable air transport. The parties have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on developing a roadmap for reducing emissions at Edinburgh Airport and achieving the airport’s net zero by 2040 goal. It is intended that it would serve as a model for other airports throughout the world. The partnership will contribute significantly to Scotland’s Net Zero ambitions and will transform Edinburgh Airport into one of the most sustainable in the world by utilizing green technologies,…
DNV acted as technical advisor to the financiers and performed technical due diligence on the world’s largest power plant project, which combines photovoltaic energy with huge storage capacity of 128MWh and is being developed by “Centrale Electrique de l’Ouest Guyanais” (CEOG). Meridiam, the project’s primary shareholder and developer, worked for more than three years with HDF, a global pioneer in hydrogen energy, and Sara, a prominent participant in French Guiana’s energy production, to form a bankable project with a pool of leading financial institutions. CEOG intends to produce stable and continuous power 24 hours a day, without polluting the environment…
Under the terms of the deal, CAC-H2 will construct and commission a wood waste biomass gasification plant for PAR, which will create carbon-negative green ammonia for local and worldwide markets.
