An industrial facility in Chile’s Punta Arenas region will produce almost CO2-neutral fuel (eFuel) in partnership with Porsche and Siemens Energy, as well as a number of other international firms. On this historic day, Chile’s Energy Minister Juan Carlos Jobet presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for this ground-breaking project. One of Hong Kong’s largest oil and gas companies, Sinopec, is looking for ways to introduce hydrogen fuel to the city’s commercial transportation industry in order to help the government reach its 2050 objective of net-zero carbon emissions. Sinopec which runs 54 of the city’s 179 petrol stations, has lobbied the government to hurry up decisions so that zero-emission fuel can be supplied sooner. Rheinmetall, a German company, aspires to be a pioneer in hydrogen fuel cell technology for defense and other purposes. The Port of Rotterdam Authority has strengthened its partnership with DeltaPort Niederrheinhäfen, allowing this set of inland ports in the northern Ruhr area to serve as a regional hub for importing green hydrogen from Rotterdam. The declaration of intent was signed by both sides. Other signatories were German firms Thyssengas, Eon, Nordfrost, and Kreis Wesel, as well as regional development corporation Kreis Wesel. Axis Energy Ventures India has established a partnership with Greenstat Hydrogen, a Norwegian startup. This relationship allows Axis Energy, based in Hyderabad, to navigate the energy transition while also playing an active role in India’s Hydrogen mission and exploring new prospects across the whole value chain of Hydrogen technology.
